Corporate communication a key aspect in Organizational Branding: Exchange between Two Gurus!

Kampala, 13 October 2022 – Ten years went by, Ethan Musolini, aka “the Merchant of Success” and CEO of Success Africa, facilitated the Nile Basin Initiative management staff retreat that took place in Jinja, a major station on the Uganda Railway and a port for Lake Victories ferries in the central business district of Uganda. During that period of time, Daniel M. Meboya was spearheading corporate communications initiatives both at the Secretariat level in Entebbe, Uganda and across the Nile Basin regional offices located in the 10 Member States. The Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) is an inter-governmental partnership of 10 Nile Basin countries namely; Burundi, DR Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, The Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda, established on 22nd February,1999. Eritrea participates as an observer. Staff retreat, as we all know, is a great way for employees to get to know each other outside of the office walls. In today’s increasingly remote work environment, they’re often becoming one of the only times that team members spend time in person. Regardless of how frequently team members meet face to face, staff retreats can be an important part of cultivating a positive and productive work environment. Time spent on retreats can increase trust, prolificacy, and happiness in the workplace. The facilitator did good work, staff members including myself happily sang our praises. Ethan Musolini made time for the Nile Basin management staff retreat a great way to get the team off-site to bond. The meeting was an unforgettable experience for all who attended. Daniel M. Meboya keeps on following the amazing work of that motivational speaker and a success coach committed to enabling organizations and individuals to maximize their potential. Ten years after he met Ethan Musolini in Kampala, Meboya is making the most of his sojourn in the Ugandan capital city to touch base with networks of prominent communication experts, including the CEO of Success Africa. In his offices situated in the heart of the city, Musolini and Meboya exchanged views on issues of corporate communication and further joint action on networking training establishment and quality of training in Uganda. More consultations will be held in the near future to promote and advance the bilateral track. After his four and half years at the Nile Basin Initiative, Meboya moved to Juba, South Sudan where his corporate communications expertise was needed at World Vision International with respect to developing a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics, as well as developing a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media, among others. In the meantime, the United Nations Security Council unanimously approved the creation of a 12,600-member peacekeeping force in the West African nation of Mali through its Resolution 2100 (2013). Meboya’s corporate communications expertise was, again, called into action in January 2014. As a corporate communication strategist, he initiated and facilitated a series of internal meetings related to reinforce the culture of information-communication-sharing as well as to help them further a culture of communications within the newly-deployed peacekeeping mission that will, in turn, enhance the Mission’s ability to deliver better service to the population of Mali. To be continued…
